Our Mixtape makes its national TV debut.
Otaku Gang is an underground culture collective created by artist/producer duo Richie Branson & Solar Slim along with graphic artist Plush Giant. Capable of making beats, rocking shows, and even developing video games, OG knows how to make noise in a variety of different ways. From producing billboard-charting work with Def Jam recordings & infusing hip-hop into Adult Swim’s legendary toonami programming block, to producing music for major video game releases like Marvel Heroes & consistently setting viral trends on the internet, they have a well-documented track record of breaking boundaries with their creativity.
We modified Street Fighter to simulate a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey and put a dope beat behind it. The result? Nearly 3 million views across Youtube, Facebook, and WorldstarHipHop and over 300,000 instrumental downloads.
When 50 Cent joined in the beef between Meek Mill & Drake, we used the rappers’ conflict as inspiration & designed a simple video game from the ground up. Since its release, the game has appeared on multiple major hip-hop and gaming news sources, generating millions of social media impressions & video views.
In 2016, we celebrated the release of Street Fighter 5 by combining the game’s soundtrack with the Eminem’s masterful lyricism to create “Marshall vs. Capcom”. Including an original EP featuring raps of our own, the project gained similar momentum to “Life After Death Star”, being featured on MTV, Complex, and other major media sources.
